Albums to Enjoy this fall

Autumn is all about staying in with a cup of coffee, a blanket and a great album on the stereo, at leat for a day off work or a weekend. While fall is getting closer and closer, I am desperately trying to find new great music to listen to, here are some of my go-to’s this fall:

The Pierces

This is the fifth album from the Pierce sisters, and they are back better then ever. The single “Kings” has been played heavily at my place this year, and the magic continues on the full lenght album. I’ve had a love/hate relationship with the band over the years, I wasn’t very into their darker sound on their Ā«Thirteen Tales of Love and RevengeĀ» album, but their 2014 modern singer/songwriter sound is just perfect for a autumn after noon at the home office.

Karen O
Crush Songs <3
Cult Records

When I first heard about a new Karen O record I started wondering where this creative lady has been for the last year? After appearing on the 2009 soundtrack to Where The Wildthings, and releasing the Mosquito album as the front woman of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, little has been heard from this lady. Both YYY and Karen has always been a favourite of mine, and this fall she’s out with a collection of crush songs. The album contains of fifteen sweet, acustic short songs about, you guessed it, mostly falling in love.

The debut album by canadian band Alvvays has been with me all through summer, and it is definitely joining me this fall as well. The band has been touring with the likes of Peter Bjorn and John and Pains of Being Pure at Heart already, and their debut is a nod to the U.K. post-punk era. After playing the SXSW festival in 2014 the band got signed to Polyvinyl records shortly thereafter. The album makes the perfect hung over cure for a lazy sunday if you ask me (and yes, that’s a good thing).

Dreaming of Summer

It’s a cloudy day here in Bergen, and even if it wouldn’t be a cloud filled day I would have no choice but to sit here in front of my computer finishing up my university thesis. But I am also dreaming, of summer of course, so much that I in fact made a special summer playlist on Spotify to get me through these last weeks of the semester. From the beautiful islands of Italy to the french riviera, and then all the way to Brazil, with some fitting soul in between…

Get Lucky 2.0

I never really got over Daft Punk’s SUPER hit Get Lucky. It has become one of my favourite songs of all time since it has so many of my favourite musical elements in the same songs. With Chic’s Nile Rodgers and Pharrell Williams featured on the track, it’s no wonder that Disco-DJ Dimitri from Paris decided to re-edit the song, as it fits perfectly as an added track to his already impressive set lists. Hello Tokyo FW: Factotum A/W 14/15

Just in from Tokyo Fashion Week: Factotum FALL 2014! This is definitely my

first post from Tokyo Fashion Week, but if wonderful garments like these keeps walking

down the runway, it most def. won’t be the last.

Factotum pretty much has the student ‘day to day’ esthetic,so it’s wonderful to

see something on the runway that you as a student really can relate to.

‘His women and men emerged wearing pajama looks, with the sleepwear theme reapprearing in the denim finale. The rest of the show had an arty, scholarly vibe with nubby sweaters, varsity jackets, corduroy blazers and toggle coats. Accessories like berets, backpacks and vintage cameras added an exchange student flair.’
